Eric's interest in high-quality optics grew from a lifelong passion for birding. That journey began early—at the age of 13, he joined the Tucson chapter of the National Audubon Society. Since then, he has led bird walks, overseen the Spring Migratory Bird Count, and participated in the Christmas Bird Count in Tucson, Provo, and Prescott.
In 2003, Eric founded Jay's Bird Barn, the sister store to Arizona Field Optics, and began helping birders select the right optics to match their interests. He continues to offer high-quality consulting and support as part of the Arizona Field Optics team.
