The Fluid Head is simply the most effective big-optic head on the market. Between lifetime durability, sublime glassing motion, and an unbeaten weight-to-performance ratio, there's no part of this head that we're not extremely proud of.

The Fluid Head offers a smooth-as-glass pan and tilt and, as always, is made completely from billet machined 6061 T6 aluminum. With most fluid heads, weight is a major concern. This indestructible piece of equipment only weighs 23 ounces. That is around half the weight of similar large pan heads.

The Gen 2 series of tripods is also based on the idea that hunters often require multiple tripod setups for different applications. Between the vast opportunity for modularity and an industry-first blend of carbon fiber and Innegra materials, this tripod is now as durable, capable, and adaptable as we can possibly make it.

Think of it this way: Each model of our tripods has been to fat camp, then boot camp, then space camp. The result is a set of tripods that are significantly lighter (11 oz on the Tall) and significantly stronger while maintaining their stability. We hope you can appreciate how awesome that is.

The Gen 2 Pan Head incorporates the highly requested Arca-Swiss compatibility while also accepting Outdoorsmans plates.

The jaw system uses a spring/washer tensioning mechanism that will provide the same amount of tension, no matter which plate style you are using. There is no need to adjust the tension of the jaws for any reason. From mounting your binos with an Outdoorsmans adapter to attaching your rifle with an Arca-Swiss rail, the Gen 2 Pan Head can handle it all with lightning-fast transitions.

That isn’t the only trick the Gen 2 Pan Head has up its sleeve, though. The jaws also have two positions that you can use for different scenarios. In the half-open position, you will be able to slide your plates in for a secure and guided fitment. Then, when you need to attach an item that isn’t able to slide on like a rifle with a bipod blocking the rail, you can open the jaws to their second position which allows any plate to just tilt in and lock down with the same speed.
